HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

The Shadow Forest Elementary PTA will provide funding each academic year for $500 scholarships for a minimum of one graduating high school senior that attended Shadow Forest Elementary School, the amount depending on funds available. Two $500 scholarships are available for the 2021-2022 year.

PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP

To support students who are focused on achieving career goals, through higher education and who have been involved in community service. In evaluating each application, the Scholarship Committee will also consider participation in school activities and scholastic merit.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a public school in Humble ISD.
• Applicant must have attended Shadow Forest Elementary for a minimum of 3 years.
• Applicant or applicant’s parent/guardian must be a member of a local PTA/PTSA in good standing. (Copy of current membership card or letter of verification from PTA/PTSA President must be attached; an optional form letter follows the application.)
• Applicant must be accepted and plan to be enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university, or technical institute.
• Applicant must not be in the immediate family of a member of the Shadow Forest Elementary PTA Scholarship Committee.
• Complete application and required paperwork must be submitted by April 1, 2022. No late applications will be considered. 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to qualify for this scholarship, the application must be accompanied by the following:

• A typed, double spaced 250-300-word essay on how an experience you had at Shadow Forest Elementary has influenced your life.
• A copy of your parents/guardian’s current Texas PTA/PTSA membership card. Alternatively, a verification letter from your PTA/PTSA President confirming current PTA/PTSA membership by the applicant or applicant’s guardians will be accepted. An optional form letter is attached following the application for your convenience.
• A copy of your acceptance letter from the educational institute you are going to attend.
